Schroth-Based Physical Therapy for Scoliosis
The Schroth Method is a three-dimensional, evidence-based, conservative treatment approach for scoliosis. Developed in Europe in 1927, it has remained at the forefront of non-surgical scoliosis care. This method is rooted in sensory-motor and kinesthetic principles and is customized to each individual’s spinal curvature. Through corrective breathing, spinal elongation, and targeted exercises, Schroth therapy aims to de-rotate the spine, improve posture, and restore symmetry.
The Schroth Method is suitable for patients of all ages and stages of scoliosis and is designed to slow or halt curve progression—and, in some cases, even reverse it.
Key Benefits of Schroth-Based Therapy:
Each treatment plan is tailored to the patient’s unique curvature and goals. The program emphasizes exercises that incorporate stretching, strengthening, and breathing techniques to counteract spinal rotation. Patients are also guided to integrate these corrective postures into their daily lives through a structured home program.
